Fuji Film or Fuji Digital? A Giveaway!

provence_filmordigital

Just for fun, I’m doing a little giveaway here on my blog! As a photographer who shoots both Fujifilm and a Fuji X-E1 digital camera, I’ve had great interest in emulating the pastel look of overexposed, pro lab scanned Fuji Pro 400H film for my digital work to get cohesive results with both mediums. What began as a personal quest has found its way into my upcoming Pro Set II for Lightroom and ACR, which will be released this week.

So, here is the challenge: look at the above images (you can click to see them larger). Then post in the comments what you think each image was shot on, Fujifilm Pro 400H, or the Fuji X-E1 post-processed in Lightroom with one of my new Pro presets.

The first one to guess both correctly wins, and gets to choose between:
- 3 boxes (15 rolls) of 120 Fujifilm Pro 400H
- My new Lightroom & ACR Pro Set II

I will post the winner on Wednesday, August 21st. Good luck!

UPDATE 21/08/2013

We have a winner! Kate Carrington was the first to guess the correct answer – these are both digital images from the Fuji X-E1, post processed with my new Honeycomb preset in Lightroom. Here are before and after comparisons for both images (click to see larger):

Congratulations to Kate, and to the others who guessed it right – and thank you everyone for participating!

The on e on the right is shot with film. I think because of the shade of green?

I’m going to take a wild guess and say the first one with the tree in background is digital and the second with the wood is film.

I’m going with digital vrs film (Fuji XE-1 vrs Fujifilm Pro 400) . Purely based on the greens which I can never get right. That was after a closer look though, my first gut reaction was film vrs digital. Mind you it’s late and I am on the phone. Either way is it wrong that I like both images just the way they are?

My best guess is that first image is digital and the second is film! Fuji is all about those greens!

They both look great, though :)

Left is film, right is digital.

My guess is due to the right side having pure blacks whereas the left has none, characteristic of film that has been just scanned in due to light bed.
